The truth about car accidents is that injuries happen more often than you think. Approximately 37 percent of the people injured in a car crash will experience some form of long-term disability. Although it’s not a morbid subject, we hope this article helps you understand why an accident could be severe and what precautions to take as a result.

First, three main types of injuries tend to occur when someone gets into an automobile accident. They are traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, internal organ damages, or organ failures where serious life-threatening consequences may ensue, including loss of consciousness and cardiac complications. No matter what the situation is, it’s clear that all of these injuries require immediate medical attention. You deserve a legal representative who will fight for you and your rights, so contact a car accident lawyer as soon as possible.

We will now see into top injuries caused by car accidents.

    • Brain injuries

Brain injuries are the most severe car accident injuries. They are not only harmful but also cause the most fatalities in automobile accidents. Approximately 30% of all deaths resulting from car accidents are caused by brain injuries.

    • Spinal cord injuries

Spinal cord injuries can result in paraplegia and quadriplegia, which will require medical attention, rehabilitation, and possibly lifelong care. These spinal cord injuries can result from a number of forces, including whiplash, direct impact, or distraction forces that may stretch or tear the spinal column apart at its weakest spot – the neck level.

    • Internal organ ruptures

Ruptured internal organs can be just as serious as the other two injuries. These internal organ ruptures and damages will cause bleeding in the abdominal cavity and may cause organ failure. Organ failure is a life-threatening condition that requires immediate medical attention. It’s a situation where there will be no blood flow to the organs, and it may result in death.

    • Fractures

Fractures cause severe injuries in car accidents. They are basically broken bones and are the most common source of injury for people who get into wrecks. Fractures may occur due to trauma to the head and neck area or the pelvic area, causing a fracture that requires medical attention to fix it.

    • Bruises and cuts

Bruises and cuts are very common in car accidents. When someone suffers a cut or a bruise, it usually means that they’ve been injured by a concrete or metal edge. For example, if you tried to open the passenger door at the wrong time when the car was moving, then you may sustain some damages to your body from that.
